This is a temp to hire position. Job Description: The Escrow Closing Agent will manage the closing process for multiple real estate transactions from beginning to completion through various administrative and clerical tasks, clearing title matters and funding. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Some or all the following duties & responsibilities may be assigned to the Escrow Closing Agent as business needs dictate: • Communicate and coordinate with industry partners such as real estate agents, loan officers, underwriters, attorneys, brokers, buyers and sellers throughout the transaction process. • Review documents such as title commitments, lender instructions and purchase/sale contracts to ensure compliance. • Facilitate clearing of any title requirements to ensure clear title at closing. • Obtain payoffs from lenders, homeowner/condominium associations, water, sewer & trash servicing companies, county and city taxing authorities and any other person/entity necessary in the transaction. • Collect and prepare necessary documentation to complete the closing transaction. • Assemble and deliver settlement statements to buyers, sellers, brokers, agents, and lenders. • Coordinating with all appropriate parties, schedule and conduct signing of buyers and sellers to successfully complete the transaction and transfer of property. • Provide professional closing experience to include, accurately and efficiently explaining documents to consumer, obtaining appropriate signatures, handling of good funds, meeting all title and lender requirements. • Collect and disburse escrow funds accurately and complete any administrative tasks such as any reporting. • Review all signed documents and prepare documents for recording; • Welcome customers and answer phones in a professional manner; provide exceptional written and verbal communication to agents and clients. • Address customer needs in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. • Correspond with lenders, builders, agents and attorneys as needed. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements • Keen attention to detail, catching even minor discrepancies. • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. • Excellent at multi-tasking. • Strong customer service skills. • Work well independently and in a group setting. • Team focused. • Ability to grasp and retain concepts while on the job training. • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) title insurance software and/or mortgage loan closing software. • High school diploma or GED required (bachelor’s degree or paralegal certified preferred). • Licensed Notary Public or ability to become licensed. • Fluency in English, with preference for bi/multi-lingual candidates. Preferred • Experience in in the closing, title insurance, real estate or mortgage industry. • Familiarity with standard title, closing and mortgage lending concepts, practices and procedures. • Experience with closing software (SoftPro).
