Position Summary
Career Employment Service is seeking a skilled Perfusionist to support cardiac surgical procedures within a healthcare environment. This role is primarily responsible for performing perfusion services for cardiac surgery patients, while also supporting cell saver procedures for orthopedic, cardiac, and neurosurgical cases.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced surgical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform perfusion services for cardiac surgical patients
- Support cell saver procedures for orthopedic, cardiac, and neurosurgical cases
- Select and prepare perfusion circuits and prime solutions based on patient and surgical requirements
- Prepare and maintain cardiopulmonary bypass equipment and related systems
- Ensure safe operation of heart-lung machines and ancillary equipment
- Manage patients during cardiopulmonary bypass procedures
- Monitor surgical procedures and respond appropriately to changing conditions
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and healthcare teams to support patient care
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated patient care and clinical decision-making abilities
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Understanding of healthcare delivery processes in a clinical environment
- 1–2 years of related experience preferred
Education & Licensure
- Degree from an approved Health Science or related program required
- Graduate of a CAHEA-accredited perfusion program required
- Current Oklahoma Perfusionist licensure required
