Position Summary
Career Employment Service is seeking an experienced Charge Nurse (RN) to coordinate patient care activities and support nursing staff on assigned shifts. This role is responsible for maintaining continuity of care, managing patient flow, and ensuring high-quality care delivery in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, leadership, and the ability to effectively manage patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities of nursing staff to ensure continuity of care and efficient patient flow
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans using the nursing process and physician orders
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments and interventions
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in delivering patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and hospital policies
- Respond effectively to patient emergencies and assist in crisis intervention
- Support patient and family education throughout care and discharge process
- Investigate patient concerns and incidents, reporting findings appropriately
- Participate in staff training, orientation, and performance improvement initiatives
- Promote a safe and efficient care environment for patients and staff
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of related nursing experience required
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of patient care standards, safety protocols, and clinical procedures
- Ability to handle stressful situations and make sound clinical decisions
- Basic computer skills for documentation and data review
Education & Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Valid Oklahoma or multi-state Registered Nurse (RN) license required
