Description:
**This is a 4 hour per day position and we are flexible as long as the hours worked are consistent and between 8 am and 5 pm. Responsibilities: The Accounting Associate may be responsible for: • Researching and responding to customer inquiries via telephone, fax, email and regular mail by accessing applicable systems • Logging, updating and tracking issues into a tracking database • Working with credit card issuers/acquirers to validate and resolve cardholder disputes • Maintaining appropriate paperwork and records when responding to credit card inquiries • Working with settlement on out of balance issues and performing corrections when appropriate to ensure correct settlement to marketers/dealers • Providing back up support for other Exception Management desks and other areas within Payment Systems Enterprise Accounting in the aspect of credit card settlement such as the Senior Advisor in Credit Card Operations, Marketer Support Help Desk, Batch Reconciliation, and minimal Issuer Settlement duties • Providing timely feedback to internal management on exception management trends/issues. Basic Requirements • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions • High school diploma/GED • Proficient (perform the skill with limited assistance) in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Preferred Skills & Competencies: • Strong effective communication skills (written and oral) • Excellent customer service skills • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work successfully in a team environment and multi-task efficiently • Basic Accounting skills & experience with a focus on internal controls • Flexibility to adapt and learn new systems • Good problem-solving skills and ability to research issues thoroughly • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the timing of requests and sensitivity to confidential information • Good planning and organizational skills & ability to set own priorities
