Position Summary
Career Employment Service is seeking a Child Life Specialist for a direct-hire opportunity in Tulsa. This position works with hospitalized children and their families to provide developmentally appropriate activities, emotional support, and resources that help children cope with the healthcare environment.
Schedule
- Full-time | Day shift
- 40 hours per week
- Direct-hire opportunity
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the individual needs of children and families
- Plan and provide developmentally and therapeutically appropriate activities
- Help children and families cope with hospitalization and medical experiences
- Document assessments, observations, and recommendations
- Coordinate and supervise volunteers providing play and developmental activities
- Participate in community activities related to children’s health
- Support evidence-based practices and continued professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, or related field required
- Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship or fellowship required
- Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) or ability to complete certification within one year of employment
- 0–1 year of child development experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Healthcare experience preferred
